Realizing that we are lucky here at Mark Twain we decided to help another school.
Our plan is to find a school in need and help them.
Adopt a school plan:
- Locate a school in need.
- what are the needs in the school.
- Brainstorm ways to get the supplies/needs.
- Deliver the supplies to the school.
How can we get the supplies?
- Have a supply drive to get the items they need. {in the nieghborhood, at Home Depot, at Mark Twain}
We asked Mrs. Vickie at the mark Twain office what are the top 6 items our school teachers use?
- pencils
- printer/copier papers
- scotch tapes
- paper clips
- gluesticks
- pens
Now we'll call Tijerina Elementary school, title 1 school, to see if these are the items they need. We plan on holding a supply drive at Mark Twain, also, out side Office Max over the weekend to get these items for our adopted school. We know this is a temporary solution, but want to help the school with some immidiate need.
We'll ask each grade level to donate one item as follows:
- Kindergarten - pencils
- 1st grade - glue sticks
- 2nd grade- paper clips
- 3rd grade - pens
- 4th grade - scotch tape
- 5th grade - printer paper
We plan on going to each class in the school and present our issue, and ask kids to ask their parents to buy something for our adopted school. We need to get Mr. Bakers approval.
Supply Drive outside Office Max - Today we called Office Max and asked if we can hold a supply drive outside their store on the weekend.
We need to make signs, and a work schedule.
